Autodromo Nazionale Monza: Sitzplan & Guide
Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the 'Temple of Speed,' opened on 3 September 1922 as the world's third purpose-built race track after Brooklands and Indianapolis. It has hosted the Italian Grand Prix every F1 season bar one (1980) and is one of the original 1950 World Championship circuits. The low-downforce, high-speed 5.8 km layout has a permanent capacity around 118,000, with weekend attendance regularly exceeding 180,000.
Best grandstands
Covered stand at the iconic final corner; higher rows and seats numbered 30 and below give the best view.
One of the best views of the fast Variante Ascari chicane; pick neighbouring stand 18 if you want shade.
Right in front of the podium, the prime seat for the post-race fan invasion beneath the rostrum.
Insider-Tipps
- Parabolica and podium-facing stands are the most popular and sell out quickly, so book early.
- Much of the circuit is open and sunny, so a covered stand (22 or 18) plus sun protection makes a long Italian weekend more comfortable.
